An auto-responder sends a pre-written reply to every incoming email. Useful for vacations, weekends, or confirming receipt of an inquiry.

How to set up in cPanel
\n
- cPanel → Email → Autoresponders
- Click Add Autoresponder
- Fill in:
- Character Set: utf-8
- Interval: hours between two replies to the same sender (24 is standard)
- Email: your mailbox
- From: “Name <email>”
- Subject: reply subject (use
Re: %subject%to keep the original) - Body: response text
- Start / Stop: enable/disable dates (optional)
- Click Create

Things to know
\n
- Autoresponses are NOT sent to mail marked “Auto-Submitted” (system notifications)
- One sender gets a reply only once per interval — no spam
- Remember to turn it off when you’re back
