What to Do If a Domain Expired — Redemption Period

If you did not renew the domain in time, it does not become free immediately. Lifecycle of an expired domain:

1. Active expired (0–30 days) — domain still works, renewal at the regular price.
2. Grace period (30–45 days) — domain is suspended, but renewal at the regular price.
3. Redemption period (45–75 days) — recovery is possible with a large fee (from $80 for most TLDs).
4. Pending delete (75–80 days) — domain awaits deletion, recovery no longer possible.
5. Released — domain is free, anyone can register it.

What to do during Redemption:

Open a ticket with subject “Redemption restore” and the domain name. We will issue an invoice for restoration + renewal.

Note: for the .tj zone the procedure and timelines may differ — check with support.

To avoid such situations — enable auto-renew or renew 30+ days before expiration.
